Silver Streak
Veronik on Aug 8th 2007

I’m not kidding: I’m going to write a real post of of these days. In the meantime…
I have a design in the new Vogue; I took some photos of it before sending it off, which can be found here. The pattern itself is available for free! there. I know it’s little hot out to consider making it, but I’ve got a couple of little refinements to add if anyone is interested.
I’m now on Ravelry. My username is Veronik.
Since I only have one book signing scheduled thus far, it seems a little presumptuous to set up a ‘Tour’ page. But I’ll be at Stitches East and I’m very excited! Details to follow…
Princess can hardly believe it, but I’m knitting her a new sweater - the first one since she lost the Debbie Bliss gansey from How to Knit’ in 2000. It’s based on one she models in the book, but I’ll probably be making changes to it. A poll may be needed, as I can’t seem to make up my mind on a couple of things.

Very pretty, Veronik. And cozy. Congrats on yet another classic, beautiful design.

Please share the “refinements.” I am so making this sweater as soon as the weather cools off! I was not a huge fan of the brooch. Glad to see you used a button.

Hi there, 1st time commenter. Just wanted to say that’s my favorite pattern in the Fall Vogue. I love it! I’m planning to make it in either dark charcoal or black this fall. Thanks and keep up the good work!

What a beauty! Adding this to my queue. Love, love, love charcoal and cables!!!

I will go “friend” you right now!

What a beautiful, feminine, classic fit. I can’t wait to see more of it… no VK here yet!

This is a gorgeous design! Congrats!

Hi Veronik. I love that sweater in Vogue. And I can’t wait to finally see your book!
Nik Aug 10th 2007 at 09:16 am 12
Honey,
I have to tell you that that is really rather beautiful. You should be proud.

Gorgeous design — definitely the best in the issue. Although this perimenopausal chick will probably find something less warm than alpaca to knit it in…
And I don’t feel so bad: Vogue Knitting can’t figure out how to make an accent aigu, either. (;

This design is absolutely stunning. Any chance of making it available in some larger sizes? (Please?) I’d really love to knit it, but I’d be loath to tackle upsizing it myself.

Very cool! I’ll add this to my queue as well — I need a new sweater or two this fall! (It’ll be a nice companion piece to my _second_ Bear Claw Blanket!)

Please Please, share your refinements for this sweater! It is gorgeous, the pictures here don’t look anything like the vogue pictures! I wish they had shown some detail. Thank you for this lovely pattern!

J’adore silver Streak. I’ll put it in my ravelry queue and look out for the yarn. I haven’t the snake hips for the long style, but I would appreciate whatever ‘refinements’ you had to offer. Lovely work, as always.

This pattern is so stunning! I love the faux cables… I’d love to hear your refinements too… Plus, being a short person (5′ 1″), I wouldn’t normally knit something that goes past my hips… What would you recommend to shorten this oh-so-beautiful design of yours?
I love your designs and can’t wait to see your newest book in person. I just “friended” you on Ravelry (I’m YarnOverHere).

This is absolutley something that I can incorporate into my wardrobe. Being short like Mary^^, I think the only mods I would want to make is to shorten it some, like the Ravelry project photo actually. I’d like to thank you for making this a free pattern aswell! I can’t wait to get started
Would you mind if I linkback to this post when reviewing VKF07?

Do you have any thoughts on using the broken rib pattern on the sleeves? It’s such a beautiful pattern, I can’t wait to make it!

Fascinating to see what a lovely design it really is, judging from your photos. I never would have dreamed of making it as it appears in Vogue, can’t tell much about it at all except that it is on a woman 9 foot tall with a total body circumference of not many inches! It is actually a wear-all-the-time cardi/jacket. How nice.
